Ok,so wrong section i know.but
Inner CV boot needed changing on my MK2 Jetta,so went down to CES last week and it took them all week to get hold of one,get it today and...well...it wont fit. Simple as that. The metal plate that goes onto the joint its self is waaayy to small, and i mean, tooo small. Even tried turning the joint the wrong way round so the lip of the join that sits in the gearbox cup was the wrong way round, but the boot plate still wouldn't go on,and the the joint wouldn't sit in the cup (D'oh)
So i'm now confused,as i assume CV boots come in but a few diameters,or am i just assuming a silly thing here?
I'm gonna give em hell over the phone tomorrow after taking all week to find me the wrong part!
I may just buy a new CV join that comes with a boot to save the hassle...
anyone else had this issue before?
